                Assam with her diversities and varied social structure is the repository of an amazing wealth of the tradition and culture . The varied cultural milieu of various ethnic groups of the State has led to the birth and growth of a unique and rich tradition of performing arts encompassing music , dance ,drama theatre fine arts and films. Efforts have been made time and again at Government Initiate to preserve and promote the performing arts of Assam , which is indeed laudable 


Birth of the corporation : 

The Assam State film (Finance and development ) Corporation Limited is the pioneer Film Organization of the North East Region for the Development of Film as a whole .It was incorporated on 4 th September , 1974 by the Government of Assam . 

The board :

The board is the legal entity charged with the management and responsibility for the organization. The Board shall established the objectives of the organization and determine the policy for the development of such objectives . The Board consist of the following members : 

• Chairperson . ASFFDC 

• Director , Cultural Affairs , Govt . of Assam 

• Director , Public Enterprise , Govt of Assam 

• Deputy Secretary , Finance department , Govt. Of Assam 

• Managing Director , ASFFDC . 
  

Manpower strength : 

The Corporation has a staff strength of 11 employees excluding the Chairperson and the Managing Director .
