Objectives

The main objective of ASFFDC are : 

1. To finance production of Assamese Film: by advancing loans, subsidies, grants, etc. or by extending financial assistance in any other manner.
2. To encourage, foster, aid, establish and maintain institutions for imparting knowledge and instructions in all matters connected with and allied to Film Industry and to arrange for the training of the employees of the Corporation or any other person in any branch of the Film Industry in its own Institutions or elsewhere and for that purpose to offer stipends scholarships or other allowances as may be considered nec­essary.
3. To carry on the business of production of films for all purpose and of Cinematograph trade and industry and all its allied and kindred trades, connected commodities, apparatus etc.
4. To carry on the business of financiers, producers distributors, exhibitors, agents, managers, maintainers and organisers of cinema films and other allied industry.
5. To carry on and undertake the business of manufactures, producers, dealers exhibitors and importers of raw films chemicals magnetic tapes photographs and optical goods, cinema films, gramophone record and recording and manufacturers, dealers, importers, exporters and hires of each and ever apparatus, machinery or accessories appertaining thereto.
6. To construct, run and manage Cinema show house, Theatre halls, Auditoriums etc. on modern lines.
7. To give awards, subsidies and to hold film festivals etc. for the improvement and encouragement of better quality films.
8. To construct, run and manage film studios.
9. To purchase, acquire, take on lease or exchange, hire construct, repair, adopt, overhaul, conduct, manage, control, and superintend in whole or in part any property, studios, theatres, places of amusements and entertainments, music halls, cinema houses picture places and concert halls solely or in partnership, periodically or permanently for producing, improving, testing installing, stocking, exhibiting, or displaying cinema films, materials, commodities, talking and silent pictures, machinery, apparatus, appliances and accessories and also to extend the business of the Corporation by adding to, altering, enlarging all or any of the studios, theatres, buildings, factories, premises, places for production of silent or talking films and machinery for the time being the property of the Corporation or on all or any of the lands for the time being the property or in possession of the Corporation and by extending from time to time such sums o money as may be necessary or expedient for the purposes of improving adding to, altering, repairing and maintaining the buildings an machinery and  property for the time being of the Corporation.
10. To manufacture, purchase or acquire, various apparatus, machinery, equipment, appliances, raw films chemical , dresses, furniture and other materials necessary or required for the production and for the representation of cinema films, both silent and talking or stage plays or other pictures or entertainments.
11. To constitute expert Committee or Committees from time to time and to nominate as members therein persons distinguished in the fields of Films, Art or Literature who will be qualified to Judge the aesthetic and technical standards of films for purposes or granting of subsidies or giving of awards or for accepting as suitable entries for Film Festivals, Competitions etc. in furtherance of the objects of the Corporation.
12. To Apply for purchase or otherwise acquire and obtain in any part of the world exclusive and other interests in copy rights and rights of representation and any other rights of or in any film photoplay, dramatic, plays, operas, burlesques, vaudevilles, revues, ballets, pantomimes, musical compositions, songs, words comedies, compo­sitions and any published or unpublished books and stories or any musical or other artistic productions.
13. To let out on hire all or any of the properties of the Corporation whether immovable or movable including all am every description of apparatus and appliances.
14. To establish, promote, subsidies and otherwise assist any company or Corporation, Society, Firm, Syndicate or concern for the purpose of setting-up any business or undertaking furtherance of any object of the Corporation.
