Jonaki :

For the past 30 years , the ASFFDC has been functioning from small a office in the premises of the Jyoti Chitaban Film Studio , Kahilipara , without any plot of land of its own , but due to the relentless effort and initiative by Ms Bobbeeta Sharma , Chairperson , ASFFDC , a plot of two bigha of land has been allotted by Govt. of Assam to ASFFDC ,near Srimanta Shankardev Kalashetra in Panjabari , Guwahati . It us enchanting to state that a multipurpose cultural complex –cum office , ‘Jonaki’ is being under construction now at ASFFDC ‘s own land in Panjabari . The solemn function to mark the laying of the foundation stone of this complex was held on September 24 , 2005 (celebrating the birth anniversary of ASFFDC ) with Hon’ble Chief Minister , Assam , Sri Tarun Gogoi , as the chief guest , Hon’ble Cultural Affairs Minister , Assam , Dr. Hemo Prabha Saikia , Commissioner –Secretary , Deptt of Culture , Dr. M. K. Barooah and Commissioner to the Chief Minister , Assam , Sri Biren Gohain , were also present on the occasion as guests of honor .
